Half day Guanabara bay visit (4 hours)
On 1st January of 1502, a Portuguese squad commanded by Gonçalves, discovered the Guanabara Bay. As they considered it a great river, and discovered it in January, they called it “Rio de Janeiro” (“January River”). Guanabara Bay is the largest bay in the world based on volume of water and has several islands, such as the Governor's Island, Fundão and Cobras Island. Facing west it is possible to see the city of Rio, while facing east, the municipal district of Niteroi.
A different perspective of the city can be discovered by taking a schooner around the bay, as guests can also admire the districts of Botafogo, Flamengo and Urca, as well as the Sugar Loaf Mountain, Christ the Redeemer and Rio-Niterói Bridge.
